Providing an official source for your competition

To ensure that competitions created in Torneo are real and verifiable, we currently require users to provide an official source when submitting a new competition. This helps us maintain the accuracy of data within Torneo while supporting the wide range of non-professional tournaments, amateur leagues, and community competitions that use our platform.

Since many competitions that use Torneo don't have formal governing bodies or official federation pages, we don't require a specific document format. Instead, our team manually reviews the source you provide to confirm that the competition is legitimate.

Please keep in mind that our goal is not to create unnecessary requirements, but to support real competitions and provide accurate and correct data to our users worldwide.

What can be considered an official source?

We typically accept any clear and publicly accessible source that provides credible information about the competition. Examples include:

Social media pages

  • Official club or team Facebook pages
  • Competition Instagram profiles
  • Public posts or event pages

Organization or club websites

  • Pages announcing the competition
  • Season schedules
  • Team or club profile pages confirming membership in a competition

Competition documents

  • Official league rules or season calendars
  • Registration forms with organizing body details
  • Documents shared by the competition organizer (PDF, image, or screenshots)

Published articles or announcements

  • Local news articles
  • Community sports organization announcements
  • Posts from municipal or regional sports associations

What should the source include?

The source should clearly show:

  • The name of the competition
  • The organizer (club, community group, school, league, etc.)
  • Basic information such as dates, teams, location, or match schedule

If a single source doesn't contain all of the above, you may provide multiple links or documents to complete the information.

Examples of sources we cannot accept

We may request additional verification if:

  • The source is a private social media profile or a closed group (we cannot view it)
  • The information is unclear, incomplete, or appears unofficial
  • The competition cannot be linked to any recognizable club, organization, or event

If you are unsure what to provide

If your competition doesn't have an official web presence, that is completely fine. Many amateur competitions operate this way. In such cases, we recommend one of the following:

  • A screenshot of the tournament schedule shared in your team's communication channels
  • Contact information or a reference to the organizer (e.g., club coach, community coordinator)
  • Any document or announcement used to coordinate the competition internally

Our support team will review the materials that you send and help you verify the competition.
